September '14 and everything else!
It's time to write something about the kids, since it's been a while and they are growing like weeds; and just all of our fun. Please, enjoy!
First on our list for the month of September was a family trip to Bear Lake. This time around, we went to the Idaho side and checked out the north beach. The north side was excellent and the water was definitely warmer, but not as clear or blue like the south side, however, the beach - killed it!
The boys loved having their Daddy playing with them on the beach! Look at this pro work he did with just a shovel.
For it being September, and the coolish weather of Idaho, we caught the sun at its hottest that day and enjoyed the beach with a minimal crowd.
We made a day trip to Big Cottonwood Canyon, I just have to say, Utah is gorg, right?
We (I) had a fun Asian food lunch on the back of our truck, while Tony and Pieces tried their fishing luck in the river. Not so good for fishing, but it was pretty!
Oh, funny story - it took me most of the day, to realize that my crotch on my new pants was completely ripped, as in a huge, gaping crater - ok, just kidding, not that bad, but slightly embarrassing, considering the other places we went that day. oops :)
We drove up to Mirror Lake, where Tony did catch some fishies, afterall, but mostly we just enjoyed the beauty.
I think we have the cutest boys in the world, and they are for sure starting to look similar, I can agree, now.
We took a spontaneous trip to Park City, one of my favs; took the boys down the Alpine slide and Kohen went with me on the Flying Eagle zip line and the Alpine Coaster. That boy is a brave heart! The resort wasn't busy at all that day, so the boys got to ride little kiddie rides, lots of times.
They both did so well, I guess Reesy doesn't get as excited, but we think he had fun.
Kohen kept telling me how awesome the zip line was, I think I found me a thrill buddy!
Kohen started his 2nd year of preschool! The exciting part is that he gets to do an hour of gymnastics for part of the class, and it's even 3 days a week - which is great for me, just because I like having him get more social interaction. He gets so excited to do gymnastics, and his teachers are so good with his personality. I even get daily updates about his mood when I pick him up, usually like "he was so happy today or he was a little whiny...". I usually just smile and say "thank you." I mean, what? Do they expect me to say something glorious? He is a 4 year old, EXTRA emotional boy; and one of the two BOYS in his class of 12 girls - who are, in fact, interested in following directions and transition with ease to new activities. But, Kohen quickly became one of the favorites of his teacher, as he proceeds to correct her out loud about animal facts, he makes them laugh.
Kohen's class had a field trip to Tracy Aviary this month, which was right up his alley. We brought Pizza with us too and it turned into quite an enjoyable time. He saw his bald eagles, a dodo bird, very loud Macaws, whose screeches apparently, can be heard 2 miles away - ahhh, no thank you; and we enjoyed an awesome bird training show with huge, loud birds flying right above our heads!
My oldest sissy, Katie and her fam came up north, so we had a yummy lunch and took our kids to Liberty Park, which has a stellar playground, if you're wondering. Cuties, ha?
More about Kohen:
Who knew, he is quite the artist. He just LOVES to draw, now a days. His favorite is drawing with chalk on the trampoline, decorating balloons with dragons, or drawing sea creatures and all sorts of animals. He's into making his own books and is starting to write some descriptions of what he drew. Here are some samples, I just think he's pretty talented and has an incredible imagination!
Kohen is still a stellar reader, he's transitioning to reading longer sentences and can do so without the help of a pointing finger. Now, just to practice his writing and math. Kohen's current obsession is still the animal kingdom, everything including dragons from the movie and his new, beloved sea creatures. Lucky for him, Grandma has NatGeo Wild - ooohhhh.
If we're not going out to see animals, Kohen is a home body, like his father. He is very cautious toward trying new things, but has been doing a little better with his eating issue. We've added some new things on the menu - but not much of anything healthy - that's still a long ways a way. However, my newest accomplishment is giving him strawberry (ya right) smoothies; or at least that's what I tell him; I don't mention the spinach, whole milk or protein powder - ha ha.
Just last night, we discovered that Kohen is a great wrestler. He's got the technique down and sticks like a cling on. He was wrestling with my cousin's 4 year old boy and they did so great together. We're discovering all kinds of new things about him.
He's still very much a sweet, tenderhearted boy. He gets his feelings hurt from time to time, but wails like a giant baby - what's with that? When we send him to his bed for misbehavior, it's like a full on missile crisis!
He loves new friends and is so happy to play with just about anyone, I love how kind and accepting he is, let's keep it that way! Kohen is looking forward to Halloween and we're gonna pray that sickness stays away this winter, cause Kohen has done so well for such a long time - it's kinda nice!
He's a tall, thin stick - so finding pants is still a challenge. He's too skinny, even for skinny jeans. He wears mostly 5T and is one of the tallest in his class. His favorites are animals, sea creatures and I think he's into pop tarts and cookies n cream milk (I know, I know) - it's not my choice. He loves to play pretend animals and has been getting into Dino world. His favorite color is red. He's one of those "what did you do today" - "nothing" type of kids, ha ha - so unless it was something he's interested in - it's like it never happened; he does that with Primary and preschool; so funny to have a kid who's obsessed with animals!
In the way of randomness and good news - we're pregnant!!!!!!

Just kidding, ba ha ha ha, that part's over, but we finally sold our townhouse in St. G. What a great relief; and I am loving up north so much more than I thought. I even have a sissy to hang out with and ran into some high school friends, so all is great. We're working on the biz, I just got my life license so I can help Tony out with appointments now. Currently, we're with Grandparents, saving our dough for a place of our own, since we're planning on staying here for a while to build a team. But, I won't lie - we've been out looking at homes and it's pretty fun - so in a few months' time - we're hoping to get a great deal. Renting is out due to the cost of renting vs. "owning" (it's in quotations because we will need a loan) - which is the same for a 2 bedroom, walk up apartment, surrounded with rather "lovely" individuals and 1 outdoor parking space, with a luxurious coin laundry in a separate building. You know.
So, what else have we done in September?
Swimming in Herriman, again.
One of our favorite activities, depending on who you talk to - Utah State Fair! Can we say "yum"? Ok, fried food and ice cream, but come on - everyone needs some in their life.
The smartest thing I've ever done, was to go on the super spinny ride as the first ride of the day. I think I pushed my good non-motion sickness fortune too far. Yeah, wasn't bright at all, but Tony had such a good laugh the entire day, because it's always him who gets sick if he even thinks about rides. Applause. Kohen loved it, though.
We came on the first day, during the week, and had virtually the entire park to ourselves! More for us. So, with unlimited ride bands, the boys had LOTS of fun, like LOTS!
Baaaaa! Clean sheep and clean pigs are the cutest.
Even Pieces loves roller coasters! I think we went on this about 4 times, and considering that no one was there, the operator kept letting it go around the track like 10 turns at a time, that makes about 40 times around. Let me off!!!!!!
Kohen's and my favorite ride - this sucker went up a LOT higher than most, so Kohen's little butt definitely caught some air.
Pieces' first time on the rocket, and he was not very impressed. Kohen loves this thing, though.
Made yet another trip to the zoo.
One of Reese's favorite animals, the bald eagle. Unlike his brother who loves the entire animal kingdom, this boy has some preferences.
Reese:
He is a huge two year old, but still as sweet as a cupcake - when he wants to be. He is the devil when it comes to potty training - so far, my attempts have failed, but that doesn't mean that I stop and give up, I refuse to have a 3 year old in diapers and that's that.
He wears some of Kohen's 4T shirts, Kohens shorts, 3T pants and size 5 diapers - ha ha to the above paragraph. I believe he is between 37'' to 38'' - tall enough for the rides!!! Size 7 shoes. He HATES potatoes - just like his father, but just the mashed kind. He is a pretty swell eater, and the diff between him and Kohen is that Reese will actually put food in his mouth without any thought, so he's not a problem at restaurants at all - he will pretty much eat what's there. He really likes tuna fish, though - weird, but whatev.
He is really sweet and chill most of the time, occasional freak outs between him and older brother, always over toys, but other than that - Reese is not emotional at all, he does really great anywhere we go, still falls asleep in his car seat; takes 3h. naps when we are at home, sleeps through the night, stays in his bed - all kinds of great things. He's just an easy kid!
Reesy is very friendly, he will pretty much hug anyone or go to them. Reesy loves nursery and loves to play with cousins - he tries to be like the big boys, but of course, can't do everything with them - so he gets left out or hurt sometimes.
Reese is deathly afraid of loud noises, and always tells me when someone or something is "too loud" or "it's noisy", like in the car, or fireworks - the poor kid's entire body shakes.
At home, he keeps his things pretty neat, he doesn't really get into anything, except books - he loves books, looks at them everyday. Loves Caillou and Elmo, loves Kohen's huge T-Rex, of course - carries that thing around everywhere, stole Kohen's blanket and now, his Vtech VReader and claimed it as his own. Reese loves water/swimming - he's always up for getting soaking wet. He loves to dig in dirt. Just like brother, he is into animals, but has only a few favorites - the bald eagle, dinosaurs, sharks, elephants and the Owlcat - from the Croods, otherwise known as the BearOwl.
He is a pretty great talker, but doesn't really jabber - he just has his choice phrases. He likes to color, play with cars and trucks, play with animals, eat, dig in dirt, read and watch movies. What a life!
This month a circus came to town! Well, to the Energy Solutions Arena. It wasn't just any circus, but The Ringling Bro's Animal Circus - who better to take than Kohen!!! Tony and I had a biz conflict that night, and Reesy would have been a pain to take with, so Grandma helped us out and took Koto.
Kohen LOVED it and came home with a "mammot", AKA mammoth and an elephant for Reese - happiness all around!
Lastly, to close the month - guess who we found?
These two lovebirds, returned home from South Africa - now, Kohen can talk their ears off about all the African animals, and we are so thankful to have amazing parents who love the Lord and are willing to serve.
Yay, September - it feels so "fally" up north. The weather is definitely cool and cold and I am ready to bust out winter clothes, my favs! Everyone is looking forward to Halloween, except maybe Tony. Can't wait to have some fun with the kids and take them around. We're off to St. G soon for my parents homecoming, and have another PRI event in Vegas coming up soon - we're so stoked and life is great!

Our friends from St. G came up and we got to hang out with them at the Loveland Aquarium. Rob and Celeste babysat our boys during our Pri meetings and we love having such fun friends. They are so cute with our boys, and the boys clearly love them too.
