PRI November, Las Vegas
In November we were down in Vegas for another PRI conference and I
wanted to share two things that touched me, shared by the speakers on
stage.
First, we
got to hear from Rick Susie and got to share in his incredible spirit.
We are so thankful for people like him, who want nothing more than to
help us succeed. The thing that amazed me about the Susie family was the
opportunities their son, Ricky is able to have in his music career,
because of the work and commitment of his parents, who were given the
same opportunity that we have now. Little Ricky sang a song for us and I
couldn't help, but tear up because it's incredible to see such an
amazing, humble and focused kid who's been taught the value of hard work
by his parents. I know that we can do the same for our boys, we can
give them choices and opportunities, regardless of what's going on in the
economy or the "market" place, if we are willing to work as hard as
they did.
Secondly,
we got to hear from an amazing young lady by the name of Ree Perez.
She's an immigrant from Guam (?), I think.... anyway, her story is so
incredible and made me think of only one thing: We've been taking this
amazing country, our America and the freedoms that our Founding
forefathers have created for us, all for granted. When you find out how
other people live and the places they've come from, and the family they
left behind for a "better" opportunity, and then to know that we've been
given the opportunity to create financial freedom for our family, but
some nights we're too lazy to make those phone calls or to go
prospecting for new clients, it's a hard truth to hear, but it was
needed. I think, for the first time in this business, someone made me
realize that it's BECAUSE we live in America, that we have the freedom
to work for ourselves, to own businesses, to leverage our time, to
create extra time; to be financially independent, to make choices for
ourselves and our families, and to have all that, just takes the right
vehicle, the right people and action.
