catching up from...... {February}
It's been a while. Like, since Tony's birthday, which was in February.
So, what have we been up to?
Let's see. Well, I almost died in a snow storm, and we did lots of awesome family things. Just kidding, I didn't almost die in a snow storm, just a fun story to tell because it was my first sorta "accident", but we did have fun the last 3 months.
Since the temperature isn't the greatest in northern Utah this time of year, we did mostly indoor things with the kiddies. Kohen discovered a new favorite, the Natural History Museum. It was actually pretty spiffy. The museum has about 5 different levels, a beautiful outdoor rooftop with stunning views of the city, hands on exhibits, dinosaur bones and at the time, a very awesome prehistoric mammals exhibit. Who knew that a walking whale was a real thing?
Back a while ago, we watched this movie called "The Croods", my boys love it, especially Reese. And, in this movie, they have all kinds of mixed up animals, like the walking whale, owlcat, parrotiger and some other crazy creatures. Well, after going to this prehistoric mammals exhibit at the museum, we learned that those animals were believed to be real and existed around the time of dinosaurs or even before. Score!
Of course we had to make a second visit, and a third. My favorite is the glass floor with dinosaur bones and the Native American exhibit is also so beautiful. I give the museum a 10; oh, and it's located at the U, up against the mountain, it's like the building before Red Butte Gardens.
Because making just one trip somewhere isn't enough, we also had to take 2 trips to the aquarium. In February, we got to see the shark feeding. Awesome!
The boys' favorite things are the movies, surprise, surprise. They love the one with the ancient ocean monsters and the little dollies. I happen to think the sharks and the penguins are pretty cool. My other favorite is the octopus, but you have to come at the right time so he will show himself in the window for a picture op. And, the river otters are pretty cute too!
This month we got to take aunt Kim and uncle Russ to the Zoo! The boys had so much fun showing them all the awesome animals, and the highlight of the trip was the boys got to see an elephant going to the bathroom. Nothing makes a boy happier than that! Bleh........
And when the weather decided to warm up, the boys and I went off to Wheeler Farm, one of our fav's. We met a newborn baby cow, pet some horses, pet a pig's nose and went on a couple hayrides.
When Daddy wasn't working, we decided to check out one of Salt Lake's treasures, a sandwich shop called Groves Market. I think this sandwich could have fed an entire third world country, and it tasted A-mazing!
And, the last adventure for February was a trip to Kid's Playland. It was kinda lame, but the boys loved it, that's all that counts, right?
