famNfun - July 2022

The end of our summer turned out to be amazingly fun because we had not just one, but two family reunions on the same weekend. We had THE bestest time with our Egbert and Gubler sides, as well as the time we've spent traveling along through Idaho and Wyoming, which are GORGEOUS in the summer. Thank you to M&D Gubler for the accommodations and all the wonderful planning from both sides of the family, we are so thankful to have.

Idaho Falls with the Egberts

Kohen and Reese had so much fun swimming with cousins

Our hotel was right on the river with a gorgeous view of the Idaho Falls Temple

We had a great time riding electric scooters, riding bikes, getting ice cream and walking around this beautiful area.

While in Idaho, the Egbert siblings (Mom had 37 acres) sold all their (beautiful, stunning, precious green hills with a creek) land in the Tetons (to a dude who wanted all 200+ acres).....I guess we were too late to that party (tear, sniffles....) So, here's one last look at this beauty we "usedtocouldahad".

Idaho Falls Zoo

Bigger than expected, this zoo had some very fun animals, my favorite being the wallabies! I mean, who has wallabies in Idaho? They were hopping around, so cute. We also got to watch a penguin feeding, which was more of watching penguins try to bite the zoo worker, but fun for us. We loved the stunning Macaws as well. This place is so worth a visit!

Goodbye to the Egberts, for now! What an awesome family we have; and this is like missing a lot of people, so the pics would be larger....The first is everyone, including in laws (who could come) and the second is the Gretchen D. Johnson and Robert Lindsay Egbert bloodline only - so cool. The third pic is my sibs, Mom and Dad Gubler and our kids.

Osgood, Idaho with the Gublers

Saturday we said goodbye to the Egberts and made the short drive to a small and very peaceful town just northwest of Idaho Falls. We learned about our Gubler ancestors (grandparents are Norman Gubler and LaVoun Tobler Gubler), heard some awesome stories from my aunts and uncles and of course, our father, Wendell about their childhoods, enjoyed yummy meals and played all kinds of lawn games.

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

The next day, we got up at 5am to make the drive to the Grand Teton National Park. It did not disappoint, we loved everything; and Jacksonhole, WY (where Dad served his mission) is oh, so, cute and I want to come back to spend more time there.

My favorite were the bison crossing the road, right place at the right time, finally! Ah, they are adorable large, hairy creatures.

One night in Afton, WY - my new favorite small town.

We stayed at the best little place called Townhomes on the Green. It was basically a small luxury cabin with everything you would want. We took a pic with the Afton temple, just for Wendell.

Montpelier, Idaho

Butch Cassidy Museum because....just some last minute fun! The mini tour was great, the museum is very well put together, we loved the stories! Hey, RLP was born in Beaver, UT - we might have some relatives who know a thing or two about the gang....

Thank you to our family, we had the most fun and enjoyed every second of the gorgeous Wyoming/Idaho scenery.

Until next time.
